Candidate Packets

Candidate packets which include the information and forms required to file for offices under the jurisdiction of Utah County are available at the Elections Office, 100 East Center St., Rm 3100, Provo. Candidate packets should be available the last week of February. Candidates for elective offices under the jurisdiction of Utah County (all county and local school board candidates) are required to file their paperwork with the Utah County Elections Office. Races in multicounty jurisdictions are required to file with the Lt. Governor’s Office or the County Clerk’s office if their residence is within Utah County.

Any person desiring to have their name printed on the ballot shall file a Declaration of Candidacy with the Elections Office between March 7th and no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 17th.

Write-In Candidate

To become a valid write-in candidate for an elective office, an individual must file a Declaration of Write-In Candidacy no later than 30 days prior to the General Election.

Federal office candidates must file the declaration in person with the Lt. Governor’s Office. State office candidates may file the declaration in person with either the Lt. Governor’s Office or the County Clerk in their county of residence. County office and local school board candidates must file with the County Clerk in Utah County.
