Eating disorders are becoming more frequent. They are most common among teenage and young adult women. Society tells us that our bodies must be at a certain weight or we are not as worthwhile or lovable. This is most certainly not true. Eating disorders are extremely dangerous and can even lead to death. The behaviors of avoiding food or purging can affect health now and in the future. To be healthy we should strive to be at a healthy weight, it is true. But a healthy weight is not one without any body fat. Living a healthy lifestyle of nutritious foods and exercise is the way to go.
