Suspect causes $100,000.00 damage to home west of Spring Lake in Utah County

On Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 0730 Detectives from the Utah County Sheriff Office responded to a Vandalism just west of Spring Lake in Utah County. Some time between 11:00 P.M. on Tuesday and 5:00 A.M. on Wednesday, a supect entered the home of Justin Peck and caused approximately $100,000.00 damage to the home. The; home was completed and the Peck family was scheduled to move into the home on Saturday, September 28, 2002. One or more suspects entered the home and destroyed most of the fixtures, sheetrock, hardwood floor, appliances, and sprayed an oil based substance onto the walls, ceilings, and carpets. All drains in the home were plugged and the water was turned on causing severe water damage throughout the home. There was approximately 2 inches of standing water in the basement that had flowed from the upstairs area of the home. The Detective Division is looking at several possible suspects in the case. No arress have been made as of today. Detectives are requesting any information that may help them in their investigation. A reward is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspects involved. Further press releases will be forthcoming pending new information. Sgt.
