Deputy Sheriff is taken to the University of Utah by Air Med

Deputy Peter Quittner tries to avoid an accident with another vehicle and rolls his vehicle. Deputy Quitner is life flighted to the University of Utah by Air Med.

On Friday, May 23, 2003 at approximately 6:12 P.M. the Utah County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a citizen regarding a Deputy Sheriff who had been involved in an accident. At the same time Deputy Peter Quittner requested help from his radio asking for assistance. Deputy Quittner notified Dispatch that he was involved in an accident and needed immediate help.

Deputy Peter Quittner was responding to a missing 4 year old child from Pelican Point on State Road 68, which is south of Saratoga Springs. Deputy Quittner observed a Motorhome pulling onto State Road 68 going south bound just north of Saratoga Springs. The motorhome drove into the north bound lane. Deputy Quittner drove onto the side of the emergency dirt lane in order to avoid the accident. Deputy Quittner hit a fairly deep hole and lost control of his vehicle. Deputy Quittners vehicle went into an alfalpha field on the west side of the road. Deputy Quittners vehicle rolled several times.

Deputy Quittner and a citizen called Central Dispatch at the same time to summons help. Deputy Quittner was taken to the University of Utah Medical Center by Air Med. Deputy Quittner was in fair condition at the time of transport. Deputy Quittner is being checked out for possible back and neck injuries.

Lehi, Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain and Cedar Fort Fire and Ambulance responded to assist. Deputy Quittner was extracated from the vehicle.
