Living Well classes for those with chronic diseases
Two class sessions available, starting July 21st in Orem and July 30th in Provo.

(July 7, 2010) -- Would you like to decrease your pain, decrease you doctors' visits and enjoy life more? The Utah County Health Department, Utah Arthritis Program, and Mountainlands Association is promoting "Living Well With Chronic Conditions," self-management classes. Two class sessions will be available. Classes will held starting July 21 from 2-4 p.m. at Mountainlands Association of Government, 586 East 800 North, Orem and starting July 30 from 9:30-11:30 at Utah County Health and Justice Building, 151 S. University Avenue, Provo.

Class sessions will be held once a week for six weeks and are free to individuals living with a chronic condition such as asthma, arthritis, fibromyalgia, cancer, heart disease, emphysema, depression or chronic pain. Subjects covered will include: techniques to combat frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation; appropriate exercise to maintain and improve strength; appropriate use of medications and proper nutrition; techniques to effectively communicate with family, friends, and health professional and guidelines to evaluate new treatments.
