Three series of workshops start soon, Sept 4th in Spanish Fork, Sept 6th in Orem, and Sept 9th in Provo
"Stepping On" is a seven week workshop that builds strength, balance and confidence in an effort to reduce the number of falls for a person 60 and older. Among older adults falls are the leading cause of injury, hospital admissions, and death. More than one third of seniors experience a fall each year. Stepping On is an evidence based program that helps seniors become more aware of fall hazards and to learn how to reduce their fall risk.
There will be three different series of workshops. The first workshop will be on Wednesday, September 4th at 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and continue each Wednesday through October 16th at the Spanish Fork Library (49 S Main St). Another workshop will start on Friday, September 6th at 10 a.m. to noon and continue each Friday through October 18th at the Orem Community Hospital (331 North 400 West, Orem). The last option starts on Monday, September 9th at 10 a.m. to noon and continue each Monday through October 21st at the Utah County Health Department (151 S. University Ave, Provo).
