A 13 year old boy was seriously injured after he fell while hiking in the area of Stewart Falls above Sundance in Provo Canyon. He was taken by LifeFlight to Primary Childrens Medical Center.
At 5:50 P.M. on September 11, 2013, dispatchers with Utah Valley Dispatch Special Service District received a call reporting a 13 year old boy fell while hiking at Stewart Falls above Sundance in Provo Canyon. After the fall the boy was unconscious for several minutes. He sustained a deep laceration to the side of his head and possible knee and elbow injuries.
Medical personnel with North Fork Fire Department and Utah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue responded and were soon on scene with the victim. They called for a medical helicopter and LifeFlight responded and was able to land near the victim. The victim regained consciousness but his condition began to deteriorate. He was treated and stabilized then loaded onto the helicopter. LifeFlight transported the victim to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City in serious condition.
