Seniors volunteer in schools, etc.
The Utah County Foster Grandparents program is looking for active seniors that want to give back. Foster Grandparents assist children in schools, daycare facilities, crisis nurseries and other places where they tutor and mentor children with special needs. Men and women who are at least 55 years old and can volunteer 15 - 40 hours a week. Volunteers are trained, and oriented in the program, and assigned to a school or facility located close to their home. Some volunteers who meet the eligibility guidelines may qualify for a small stipend, too. Guidelines for eligibility can be found at www.UtahCountyHealth.org/seniors, while questions and appointments can be made by calling 801-851-7784.
