An 34 year old Eagle Mountain man was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on a charge of aggravated arson after he set his house on fire.
On August 1, 2014, just after 11:00 PM, dispatchers with Utah Valley Dispatch Special Service District received a call about a house fire in Eagle Mountain. Unified Fire Authority (UFA)responded and began to work on putting the fire out. Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office (UCSO) also responded. While UFA investigated the fire UCSO investigators spoke to witnesses. Witnesses reported that one of the occupants of the home, George Everton Maile, age 34, intentionally set the fire. Nobody was injured in the fire. Maile was located the next day and arrested by South Jordan Police. UCSO investigators booked Maile into the Utah County jail on one charge of Aggravated Arson, a first degree felony. His bail has been set at $10,000.00 cash only. Nobody was injured in the fire. UFA investigators estimate damage to be approximately $100.000.00.
