School starts next week. UCHD in the community with immunizations.
PROVO, UTAH (August 11, 2014) --School starts next week, so it's crunch time for back-to-school planning. That includes getting those school immunizations up-to-date!
New kindergartners are required to have be up-to-date on vaccinations for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTP, DTAaP, or Tdap vaccine), polio, measles, mumps, rubella (MMR), hepatitis A and B, and varicella (chicken pox). Seventh graders are required to have a Tdap booster, and it is highly recommended they also receive a booster for varicella, meningitis, and HPV. Health professionals also encourage these same boosters for college students if they haven't had them. You can find the complete schedule of immunizations at www.UtahCountyHealth.org/immunizations.
The Utah County Health Department (UCHD) offers all these immunizations at our Provo Clinic (151 S. University Ave), in UCHD American Fork Office (599 S 500 E), and Payson Satellite Clinic (439 West Utah Ave). For details, please see www.UtahCountyHealth.org/immunizations, call 801-851-7025, or follow #UtahCountyShots at www.twitter.com/uchd.
