A 31 year old Spanish Fork man was transported to Utah Valley via Life Flight due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash while attempting to evade Law Enforcement officers.
On 08/13/14, A Utah County Patrol Sergeant was passed by a motorcycle traveling north bound on I-15 at a high rate of speed. The Sergeant attempted to stop the motorcycle in the area of SR75 and 1600 West in Springville. The motorcycle fled east bound on SR75, turning north bound onto State Street. The Sergeant ended the pursuit as the motorcycle entered into Provo City limits. A short time later, Spanish Fork Police observed the motorcycle in their city and attempted to stop it. The motorcyclist again fled from officers, however, Spanish Fork Officers did not pursue. Utah County Deputies located the motorcycle traveling west bound in the area of SR77 and River Lane and began pursuing it again. The motorcycle eventually turned north bound onto 800 west near the Spanish Fork City Airport. Due to construction in the area, 800 West was closed to through traffic at approximately 4600 South. The motorcycle struck a steel cable that was blocking the road at 4600 South and crashed. The male sustained serious injuries and was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center via Life Flight.
