Two classes, one starting April 21 and one starting May 5
Learn to be a skillful self-manager of your Diabetes. The Utah County Health Department will offer a free Diabetes Self-Management class focusing specifically on the special challenges diabetes can present, and offers suggestions and techniques to manage this condition, including: 1) Techniques to deal with symptoms and emotions; 2) Appropriate exercise to maintain & improve strength; 3) Healthy Eating; 4) Appropriate use of medications; and 5) Working more effectively with health professionals. Classes run about two hours and are free, but registration is required.
Two class series are currently planned. The first will be on Tuesdays, starting April 21 and running through May 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at the UCHD North offices (599 S. 500 E., American Fork). The second will start Tuesday, May 5 and run through June 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Utah County Health and Justice Building (151 S. University Ave, Provo).
