A 31 year old man died after he crashed while driving his off road motorcycle on a dirt road near Utah Lake. He crashed while passing a pickup that made a right turn. He was not wearing a helmet.
***** UPDATE ***** The driver of the motorcycle who was killed in a crash on Spanish Fork River Road near Utah Lake is Eric Spencer Hansen, age 31, of Spanish Fork.
On April 18, 2015, shortly after 3:00 PM, Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a motorcycle crash on Spanish Fork River Road, near the southeast shore of Utah Lake. The driver of a west bound pickup made a right hand turn as the driver of a Honda dirt bike attempted to pass him on the right. The driver of the dirt bike collided with the pickup and became airborne. He impacted a tree and suffered serious head injuries. Witnesses and a riding partner initiated CPR, which a Deputy continued when he arrived on scene. The victim was transported by Spanish Fork Ambulance to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition. After being treated at UVRMC doctors treating him were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The victim was not wearing a helmet.
