A 48 year old Farmington woman sustained serious injuries in a fall near Emerald Lake on Mount Timpanogos. She was flown to a local hospital by LifeFlight.
On July 2, 2015, a few minutes before noon, Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a woman who was injured in a fall on Mt. Timpanogos. The caller said the woman left from the Timpooneke Trailhead and was near Emerald Lake, below the summit of Mt. Timpanogos. The victim, a 48 year old woman from Farmington, fell about 150 feet while hiking and sustained serious injuries. She was able to talk and respond appropriately but was experiencing serious pain. Volunteers with Utah County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue and Lone Peak Fire personnel responded, along with LifeFlight. The medical helicopter was able to land near the victim and hike to her. They were able to stabilize her and then a second LifeFlight helicopter responded to hoist the victim. She was then prepared for transport and has been flown to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. Her injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
