Utah County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested a Vineyard man after an 8 year old girl told her mother he had been abusing her for over a year. He was booked on 3 different charges.
On the afternoon of Friday, November 20 Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to investigate a report of an 8 year old girl who had been sexually assaulted. The victim's mother took her to a local emergency room after the girl disclosed to her mother that the mother's boyfriend had been touching her inappropriately.
Investigators took the victim to the Utah County Childrens Justice Center where she was interviewed. She disclosed that her mother's boyfriend, Oscar Nunez, age 32, of Vineyard, had been sexually abusing her for more than a year. The abuse began while the victim lived with her mother and Nunez in Wyoming. The most recent inicdent of abuse occurred last Wednesday, November 18 in Vineyard.
Investigators contacted Nunez in Clearfield. He denied that he touched the victim inappropriately or that he did anything illegal. Nunez was arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail on first degree felony charges of Rape of a Child, Sodomy on a Child, and Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child. He is being held on $50,000.00 cash bail. This case remains active as Detectives follow up on information that was uncovered during the course of their investigation.
