A 46 year old West Jordan woman was seriously inured in an ATV crash at Five Mile Pass in Utah County. A passenger was arrested and booked into jail for drug and alcohol charges.
On June 19, 2016, at 11:56 AM, a Deputy with the Utah County Sheriff's Office was patrolling in Fairfield in Utah County on SR-73. He stopped the driver of a Dodge pickup for travelling 89 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone and for passing other traffic unsafely. The Deputy found there was a 46 year old woman in the pickup who had been injured in an ATV crash at Five Mile Pass Recreation Area. She had an obviously broken femur. She also had a possibly broken hip and collar bone. The people she was with had not called 911, but chose to transport the woman to the hospital on their own. The Deputy called for an ambulance and for a medical helicopter. An AirCare medical helicopter responded from Payson and the woman was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. The woman, Tammy Lynn Huish, age 46, of West Jordan, was in serious condition when she was flown to IMC. Huish was also found to have a warrant for her arrest for felony theft out of 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City. The bail on that warrant was $15,000.00. Because of her injuries she was not arrested for the warrant.
As the Deputy evaluated the injured woman in the pickup he saw a glass pipe with a substance in it that was later determined to be methamphetamine. He also saw numerous open containers of alcohol in the pickup. A passenger in the pickup, Gary Glenn Winham, age 47, of San Bernardino, California, told the Deputy the pipe, methamphetamine, and open containers belonged to him. Winham was arrested and booked into the Utah County jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. The driver of the pickup, Ernest Ronald Holland, age 56, of West Jordan, was also cited for allowing an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.
