On September 25, 2016, shortly before midnight, firefighters with Cedar Fort Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a house fire in Cedar Fort. Unified Fire Authority in Eagle Mountain also responded to assist. After arriving at the scene, a man reportedly assaulted the Cedar Fort Fire Chief. The firefighters then called for assistance from the Utah County Sheriff's Office. A responding Deputy found two men who were intoxicated. The Deputy temporarily detained both men while firefighters and investigators got the fire under control. Both men were later released but the investigation remains active. Charges are likely to be filed once the fire investigation is complete.
