A 22 year old Mt. Pleasant man was found dead in a remote area in the south part of Utah County. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
On Thursday, October 20th, hunters discovered what appeared to be a partially dug grave in south Utah County, near the Sanpete County border. When detectives from the Utah County Sheriff’s Office arrived they discovered human remains in the shallow grave under a thin layer of dirt. Crime scene technicians collected the remains, which were then sent to the medical examiners office in Salt Lake City for an autopsy. Due to the condition of the body, investigators have yet to determine cause of death. However, they were able to identify the victim by dental records. The victim is Wesley Dee Nay, age 22, from Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Wesley was originally reported missing September 18, 2016 to the Mt. Pleasant Police Department by family and friends. The Utah County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the Sanpete County Sheriff's office while investigating this case. They are investigating Nay's death as a homicide. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Utah County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division at (801)851-4010 or email Lt.
