Women's Health Fair - February 11th and 12th

The Utah County Health Department (UCHD) wants to help the women in Utah County improve their health by getting to "The Heart of the Matter." This special health fair is for women ages 40 and over, and will provide free or low cost screenings on Wednesday and Thursday(February 11th and 12th) from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day.

Breast exams, pap smears, and skin cancer screenings will be given by appointment free for low income individuals. Fasting cholesterol tests will also be offered by appointment for $26. Free exams will include skin cancer and chiropractic screenings as well as blood pressure, glucose and oxygen checks. Individuals interesting in making an appointment should call 851-7031. Drinks, snacks and prizes will also be offered.

Skin cancer screenings will also be offered to anyone interested. Doctors and medical personnel will review skin conditions for individuals, looking for abnormalities that might indicate or lead to skin cancer. Referrals will be made for individuals considered to be at risk to local dermatologists. The doctor will determine if you need to be seen by a dermatologist, if your lesion needs to be removed, scraped or burned; if you need cryosurgery (freeze it using liquid nitrogen); if you need laser surgery, radiotherapy or any other procedure. We will provide you with a list of dermatologist of Utah County, and access to financial aid if needed.
