The public is invited to participate in developing the conceptual design of the new Utah County convention center to be built in downtown Provo. The project design team is hosting a public open house on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Ballroom of the Utah County Historic Courthouse at 51 South University Avenue, Provo.
The open house will give interested members of the community the opportunity to view and comment on several early design concepts and to provide valuable input into the development of this important regional facility.
The convention center will be a significant resource to the already exceptionally strong hospitality industry in Utah Valley. It is being developed to serve the needs of local businesses and to become a destination for regional events and shows.
A kickoff meeting was recently held with many local business leaders and project stakeholders to identify key issues associated with the project. MHTN Architects, Inc. of Salt Lake City will be designing the facility. They have partnered with Populous Architects, a world-leader in event venue architecture.
