Next H1N1 Reservation Ticket Distribution to be Mon., Nov 23rd
OUTDATED AS OF NOVEMBER 19TH, Please see www.UtahCountyHealth.org for updated information.
(November 16, 1pm) -- The UCHD has given out all the H1N1 reservation tickets for vaccine to be distributed on Nov 19th and 21st. The next ticket distribution will most likely be November 23rd, but the only vaccination day will be November 24th due to the Thanksgiving holidays.
Residents are encouraged to check the UCHD web site (www.UtahCountyHealth.org), to call the UCHD Hot Line at 801-851-2222 or to call United Way’s 2-1-1 Information Line for vaccine availability updates. You may also receive updates by following the UCHD at Twitter or be a fan on FaceBook.
The UCHD has been distributing tickets once a week on Monday's from our office in Provo (151 S University Ave). The lines are long in the very beginning when first open at 8 am (people will come down at 5 am and get in line), however that line gets down really quickly, and after about 9 the line is generally less than 20 minutes. The last couple of weeks we have had tickets through about noon. We expect that practice to continue while demand remains high and supplies are limited.
The tickets are first-come first-served, and the UCHD gives individualsthe choice of available time slots on the days we are open. For example, with Thanksgiving next week, we will only hold vaccine clinic on Tuesday, but we will give out tickets for each time slot between 8 and 3. Individuals know that they can come during a given hour (say, 10 to 10:30), and know they won't have to wait more than an hour (again, generally less than 20 minutes). They are also assured of getting vaccine, because the UCHD only gives out tickets for the number of people we can serve in that particular time slot. This system was implemented when we were experiencing 4 to 5 hour lines. Now, the average wait is less than 40 minutes.
