Community Resources

In addition to providing nutritious foods and education, WIC also provides referrals to other agencies. There are many resources in the community to help each family meet its needs. The programs mentioned below are located in Utah County or nearby.

Alien Emergency Medical Services

Helps pay the cost of hospital and delivery of baby for non-residents of the United States who qualify. Call 30 days before the delivery due date.

Caring Foundation for Children

Provides up to $1,000 in dental coverage for non-insured children.

Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Provides insurance for children 0-18 years of age whose parents do not meet Medicaid requirements. Provides the following services:

• Health care provider visits and services

Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)

CSHCN doctors and other health care professionals provide services for children with physical and/or developmental concerns or disabilities. They do not take the place of a child's regular physician. CSHCN provides services for the following needs and conditions:

Works to improve access to medical and dental care for low-income, uninsured men, women, and children. Coordinates a volunteer provider network to provide health education in order to maximize existing community resources.

Fluoride Prescription

Provides free fluoride prescription note at the nurse’s station. The prescription note can be taken to any pharmacy to obtain fluoride using individuals own insurance or cash.

Food and Care Coalition—Share a Smile

Health Clinic of Utah and Family Dental Plan

Provide healthcare access to all Utah County residents, and affirm primary care at low reasonable rates. Services provided include:

• Connections to Medicaid/PCN eligible workers
• FNP and PA and MD supervision

Get no-cost or low-cost vaccines at all Utah County Health Department locations and numerous doctors’ offices. Provides free reminders about when to get your child vaccinated. Gives other helpful information on why you should vaccinate your child.
