Community Resources

In addition to providing nutritious foods and education, WIC also provides referrals to other agencies. There are many resources in the community to help each family meet its needs. The programs mentioned below are located in Utah County or nearby.

Center for Women and Children in Crisis

Provide intervention for women who are abused and are victims of sex crimes. Provides the following services:

• Counseling
• Help to evaluate woman’s options
• Help finding violence-free lives

Child Help USA

Twenty-four hour hotline, crisis help for children and adults for treatment and prevention of abuse and neglect.

Crisis intervention and emotional support for child and family. Therapy referrals and funding for victims of child and family abuse.

Family Support and Treatment Center

Individualized therapy for abuse victims and victims of trauma. Prevention/drop off center for parents, 24 hour a day.

ISAT Specialized Abuse Treatment Center

24-hour crisis counseling. Provides treatment for:

• Domestic violence
• Sexual abuse
• Substance abuse

Protective Services (DCFS)

Child Protection Services provides diagnosis and referral to treatment for sexually and physically abused children. DCFS provides investigation and treatment of neglected children and shelter care.
