Ulta light plane crashes in Eagle Mtn. City; killing one male

On 04/05/03, shortly after 1:00 P.M., and Eagle Mountain resident observed an Ultra Light plane flying over a deserted field in the Overland Trails area of Eagle Mountain. She noted that the plane appeared to be flying in a "reckless" manner. The plane had been flying in an up and down fashion; like a roller coaster. Suddenly, the resident observed the plane dive, nose first, toward the ground. She was concerned that the plane might have crashed, so she drove to the area in which she saw it go down. She and other Eagle Mountain residents found the Ultra Light plane crumpled up on the ground and located one male inside the wreckage. He was found to be obviously deceased. The victim, Grant Cedarstrom (age 50) of Lehi, was found to be the only passenger in the single seat plane. While the Utah County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident, preliminary results indicate that adverse weather conditions may have played a part in the tragedy.
