On Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 3:44 P.M. the Utah County Sheriff Office received a 911 call from a citizen regarding a boy missing on Utah Lake.

At approximately 2:00 P.M. two boys from Salt Lake were south of the Lindon Marina behind Geneva Steel on Utah Lake with a float tube. The boys were approximately 400 to 500 yards out in the lake when a wind storm started. The wind blew was blowing the float tube towards the middle of the lake. The boys jumped out of the float tube in an attempt to swim and pull the float tube towards shore. The 16 year old boy held onto the tube trying to pull it to shore while his 18 year old brother left the tube and started to swim to shore by himself. The 18 year old boy turned to his brother and told him that he was tired and cold and couldnt swim any more. The 18 year old boy was approximately 20 feet from the tube when he went under the water. The 16 year old swam to his brother and dove under the water and could not not find him. The 16 year old was assisted to shore by another boat on the lake.

Search and Rescue with the Sheriff's Office, State Parks, Sheriffs Communication Team, and Air Med are assisting in trying to find the 18 year old. Boats and divers are currently attempting to find the boy.
